Faith’s bright outlook
“Rejoicing in hope” (Rom. 12:12).
“We through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Rom. 15:4).
Unbelief paints all God’s beautiful pictures of Christian hope and promise in the darkest hues. Faith grasps them and appropriates them for the individual in the darkest hours. The story is told of a little girl who had an infidel father. Anxious to instill his principles into his little daughter’s mind, he hung a motto in her bedroom which read, “God is Nowhere.” Faith in the heart of the little girl, however, interpreted these dark words differently.
